About Nijens

We are a small company based in Berlin. Since 2004 we have mainly been producing bags, women's clothing (skirts, Trousers) and for the cold season hats, gloves, headbands and Cuff Arm Warmers.

Our production sites are in India (Dehli textiles, Calcutta leather, Nepal Kathmandu wool).

Amos Kalay, our boss, speaks fluent Hindi, which means that he is often on site, especially in India and Nepal, to oversee the production and to maintain good contacts, not only with the local bosses, but in particular with the workers who manufacture our products manufacture, which helps us a lot to achieve good build quality. 

We pay particular attention to ensuring that no children are employed and that the working conditions are fair. In recent years, we have intensified our efforts to significantly reduce waste and potential climate impact from our production and logistics. 

Due to our love for India in particular, our products are characterized by intensive colors and playful shapes as well as light fabrics. The winter range from Nepal is characterized by warm, good wool.

Amos spends a great deal of time and effort (nearly impossible without knowledge of the local language) to find and qualitatively check the materials used among millions.

Meanwhile, in addition to the shapes, we also design more and more (almost 50%) our patterns and colors of the fabrics used ourselves, so that we can implement our ideas more and more precisely.

In addition to the online shop, you will mainly find us in northern Germany at major events and at Christmas markets.
